If It’s Not Forever – Cassidy Mann
Released in early 2022, If It’s Not Forever is a six track EP written and sung by Cassidy Mann. Her newest release is a combination of light-electronic and acoustic vibes, the type of soft tones you might hear playing gently in a coffee shop or bookstore. As a whole, the EP tells the story of love lost and the journey of carrying on as a stronger self.
Throwback Interview: Kakagi
The group is made up of four lifelong friends, two of which, drummer Max Brodovsky and the aforementioned singer/guitarist, Jacob, are siblings. Jesse Popeski and Jonathan Corobow make up the other half of this four piece folk-rock group from Winnipeg.
Throwback Interview: Lev Snowe
Winnipeg’s newest electro indie-rock band, Lev Snowe, is set to hit centre stage this coming December. Lev Snowe is a mellow toned rock group made up of best friends, Daniel, George, Lev, and Tim who share the credit where it is due. Never in your life will you meet a group of such well mannered, polite young gentlemen. Their kindness is not to be taken for weakness as they crank up the volume and leave you wanting more.
Throwback Interview: Sophie Stevens
It was a humid June evening teetering on the edge of rainfall that I first met singer/songwriter Sophie Stevens for what was intended to be an interview for a piece about the space she writes her music in. As we sat and talked, the flower of this artists mind blossomed to explain the method behind her songwriting.

Kaleo in Winnipeg
Soon after the song came the band. The crowd erupted once singer JJ Julius Son came out and gave a quick bow. Guitarist Rubin Pollock stood to stage left with a rectangular bodied black and white Rickenbacker, though without my glasses it could have been anything. He would later play on a sunburst style Les Paul from the now bankrupt Gibson company and later a Fender Telecaster. The singer came out with a Telecaster, perhaps the same one.

Ferraro - Losing Sleep
In their debut album Losing Sleep, released under Cadence Music, brotherly rock trio Ferraro came onto the scene with a unique and authentic sound that reminds listeners of what makes music from the era of five-cent bottles of Coca-Cola worth loving.

Lainhart by Senora May
Upon hearing Senora May’s debut album, Lainhart, a few things will be made clear. For one, there’s no hunk of cheese big enough to coax her into the Rat Race. What she wants instead is a life outside the cage where she can stretch her legs and let her soul wander. Senora touches on this and more in her romantic album about life.
